School: Twenty Twenty

The 2020/2021 school year has blasted off! I am teaching a new subject to a new grade in a new school. This Kindergarten specialist is now teaching math/science to 60 grade 7 students and I am both thrilled and terrified to learn everything with them! This week has been awesome getting to know my students. I still feel like a TTOC in the sense that every lesson I'm teaching is brand new, but I am already getting to know my students and feel our connections starting. I have an amazing partner teacher and teacher pod who have given me support and resources and I feel so lucky to be where I am.

I am continuing with my Teacher Librarianship Diploma and am currently taking LIBE 467 - Information Service, so expect some librarian related blog posts in the coming weeks. Good luck with the coming school year, everyone!

LLED 441 - Assignment 2 - Curation of Children's Literature

I attempted a screen-capture video of my Prezi for showcasing the books I have chosen for this topic. It was my first time trying this out, so I hope it worked and that my mouse wasn't too distracting. The next time I use Prezi, I hope to add some music in the background to make the video a little more exciting. I tried, but for some reason it didn't record this time. Please put on your own music or tune in here!

I also realized after it was over that I did not include one of my main inspirations for this project, Counting on Katherine: How Katherine Johnson Saved Apollo 13. I borrowed it as an e-book from the Fraser Valley Public Library and it slipped my mind while I was creating my presentation. Please enjoy this read aloud https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXtTMCBpXRg

Thank you for taking the time to watch!
